YNU wins big in provincial innovation and entrepreneurship contest

Yunnan University (YNU) has won 20 gold medals, 34 silver medals, and 39 bronze awards in the finals of the 6th Yunnan College Students 'Internet Plus' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, with its total medal haul ranking first among universities in Yunnan province.

As of July 30, a total of 89,206 students from 76 universities across the province had participated in the competition, an increase of 13.2 percent over last year. The number of registered projects reached 26,872, a year-on-year increase of 51.4 percent. Of this total, 6,693 students from YNU had registered 1,289 entries.

YNU attaches great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship, and has integrated it into its talent training program, its professional education, and its ideological and political education, as well as its curriculum system and teaching model, to encourage young students of YNU to enhance their practical abilities and professional skills in innovation and entrepreneurship activities.

Over the past six years, the numbers of participating projects and award-winning projects across all of the levels and various disciplines of YNU have increased year-by-year, and the professional coverage, grade coverage, specialty integration, and subject intersections are also expanding.
