A series of activities promoting ecological civilization science at Yunnan University (YNU) was carried out on Oct 11, popularizing scientific information regarding biodiversity, enriching the cultural life of university faculty and staff, as well as promoting parent-child relationships.
Held by YNU's Labor Union, Science and Technology Association, Youth League Committee, School of Ecology and Environment, as well as its library, the popular science series exhibited more than 100 beautiful natural ecological pictures with the theme of biodiversity conservation, allowing children to experience the beauty and charm of ecology, while learning about nature.
Eight popular science tutors from YNU led the children in visiting the biodiversity photo exhibition, explaining interesting biological stories, as well as guiding the children to think about the subject, complete learning tasks, and exercise oral expression skills through lectures.
The photo exhibition is the first of YNU's ecological civilization science popularization activities. In the future, the university will carry out activities outside the campus and go into communities, parks, as well as primary and secondary schools to introduce the ecological civilization construction and biodiversity achievements of YNU in biodiversity protection, creating a good social atmosphere for the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15), which will be held in Kunming, Yunnan province next year.
