YNU deepens cooperation with Kunming Institute of Botany

Director Sun Hang and Academician Hao Xiaojiang of the Kunming Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited Yunnan University (YNU) and signed a strategic cooperation agreement to further carry out cooperation on Oct 23.

Sun said at the signing ceremony that the two sides should make full use of their resource advantages in disciplines and talents, as well as rely on their own unique advantages to carry out in-depth cooperation around the joint training of talents, scientific research focusing on biodiversity, and the joint establishment of the Institute of Biodiversity of YNU, thus enhancing their ability to serve the major needs of national and regional economic and social development.

Fang Jingyun, president of YNU, expressed his hope that the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement can strengthen in-depth cooperation in related fields, promote the high-quality development of both parties, cultivate more outstanding talents for the country, as well as enhance scientific research innovation and social service capabilities.

The participating experts from both sides exchanged views on the future development direction and co-construction organization model of the Institute of Biodiversity of YNU. They also discussed the training of high-level talents, cooperation in the fields of life sciences and medicine, as well as the employment of experts.
