A multi-party cooperation agreement signing ceremony was held at the Chenggong campus of Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, the capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province, on Jan 7.

The agreement was signed by YNU, the committee and the government of Kunming's Guandu district, Kunming Traffic Investment Co Ltd and Poly Yunnan Property Co Ltd.

Officials and representatives from all sides participated in the ceremony.

YNU President Fang Jingyun expressed gratitude to attendees at the ceremony for their long-term concern and support for the university's development.

Fang discussed YNU's development in recent years and said that the cooperation deal is a comprehensive, beneficial and in-depth partnership between the government, university and enterprises. Fang added that it is of great significance to promote the development of all sides.

Representatives from other parties also addressed the ceremony and stated that they hope to expand cooperation to achieve shared growth and contribute to social development.

The cooperation agreement will promote YNU's "double first-class" construction -- the university's efforts to build itself into a world-class university with world-class disciplines. According to officials, it will also allow for joint scientific research, professional training and basic education cooperation to make new contributions to regional economic growth.
