Officials of Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, recently visited retired teachers, experts and scholars, sick faculty members, and teacher and student representatives to extend Spring Festival blessings. This year's Spring Festival falls on Feb 12.

They were led by Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU, and Fang Jingyun, president of the university. The delegation said that the individuals they visited had all made considerable contributions to YNU's development and that their assistance will always be appreciated and cherished.

While visiting experts, scholars and talent representatives, YNU officials said that the university had achieved significant progress in its goal for "double first-class" construction, which refers to the university's efforts to build itself into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.

In the future, YNU will attach more importance to cultivating talented professionals, stimulating new energy in students and faculty and promoting the university's development, according to officials.

Officials also visited representatives of the university's affiliated hospital, expressing gratitude to medical workers for their dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control period.
