The first online EU-China Winter School 2021 hosted by the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE) was held from Feb 1 to 5, with participation from students of various majors at Yunnan University (YNU) – a long-term partner of CIFE.

With the theme of "Understanding European integration: institutions and laws," the event invited well-known professors from France, Germany and Greece and representatives of EU institutions to offer classes about EU history, EU institutions, EU law and China-EU relations, among other categories.

Students also visited the EU commission and council online after classes.

In addition to improving the student's English listening and speaking skills, a credit recognized by the EU was also provided to students who participated in the five-day program. Those who plan to study in EU countries or partake in short-term exchanges can use the credits.

It is the eighth year that the winter school program has been held and the first time it has been held online – due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CIFE was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Nice, France. It is a non-profit higher education and research institution.

Students can follow the official WeChat account of YNU's Office of International Cooperation and Exchange or call 65033815 to get details on the winter school program.
