Seven international students at Yunnan University have been awarded the "2020 Chinese Government Scholarship for Outstanding International Students in China", according to a list recently released by the international cooperation and exchange department of the Ministry of Education. A total of 575 students made the award list.
The seven students at YNU are: Onem Gamze from the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Daiz Cady Jingrong from the School of History and Archives, Souvanh Souphanthong from the School of Economics, Zilanee Md Golam from the School of Information Science and Engineering, Rifat Md Raihan Hassan from the School of Software, and Abaskanova Zhibek and Molitvina Zlata from the School of International Education of Chinese Language.
The Chinese Government Scholarship for Outstanding International Students in China is a scholarship program established by the Ministry of Education to expand the Chinese Government Scholarships' influence and cultivate more international talents.
Review for the scholarship is carried out once a year and analyzes students' academic performance, scientific research ability and performance at campus. It is regarded as one of the highest honors that the Chinese government awards to international students in China.
According to university officials, YNU will improve the quality and efficiency of international students' education.
