The 2021 "Chinese Bridge" Online Camp opened on March 13 at Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, the capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province. The camp was hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education.
It aimed to explore and deepen the new model of humanistic exchanges between YNU and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
More than 400 students from 26 countries, including Bangladesh, Myanmar, Iran, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Yemen and the Maldives, signed up for the camp and participated in online learning and exchange activities from March 13 to 23.
During the opening ceremony, the director from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of YNU and teacher and student representatives gave a briefing to the camp, put forward teaching requirements and expressed expectations for the activities.
In recent years, YNU has continuously deepened language cooperation and cultural exchanges with countries involved in the BRI and organized a series of exchange events.
This online camp is a prime example of using new technology to promote exchanges between Chinese and foreign youths, providing a platform for young foreign students to learn more about Chinese culture.
