He Daming, a researcher from Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, was selected as an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, according to university reports.
He has long been engaged in scientific research and teaching work related to international rivers. For more than 30 years, he and his team have solved many major problems, such as the attribution and cross-border impacts of hydrological and ecological changes in international rivers, water resource allocation and benefit sharing, and water security and ecological security.
Systemic and original scientific research results have filled gaps in the country's international river research and have been highly recognized by domestic and foreign counterparts.
His research results have supported the construction of major national and regional hydropower projects, shipping projects and other undertakings, achieving remarkable results in serving national geopolitical cooperation and resolving cross-border disputes.
He has been selected as a national outstanding scientific and technological worker and was chosen among the first batch of leading scientific and technological talents in Yunnan province.
Founded in 1994, the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences now boasts more than 600 academicians, correspondents and honorary members from 46 countries.
Headquartered in Moscow, the academy has national science centers in 15 countries. The China Science Center of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences is the second-largest among the 15 centers in terms of membership numbers.
Currently, a total of 256 Chinese scientists are academicians of the academy.
