The software engineering major offered by the School of Software at Yunnan University, also known as YNU, was reportedly recognized by the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association, according to a recent announcement.
It is the first major at Yunnan University – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – to have passed the accreditation.
The engineering education accreditation is regarded as an internationally accepted engineering education quality assurance system and its recipients pursue the core concepts of being student-centered, output-oriented and having continuous improvement.
The accreditation is followed by school self-evaluation, professional reviews, an on-site examination by experts, a conclusion review and more.
Since 2018, YNU has been promoting the accreditation of its engineering syllabus, to improve the competitiveness of its engineering disciplines, so as to produce more internationally-recognized engineering professionals.
