Yunnan University is located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, and its Chenggong campus is located in the city's Chenggong district.
The establishment of the service station was an important measure taken by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government to serve local foreign affairs and overall national diplomacy, as well as the economic and social development of Yunnan.
It will provide foreign-related services such as visa applications for business or for private international travel, and consular authentication to government departments, State-owned enterprises and institutions, institutions of higher learning, and individuals stationed in Chenggong district.
Li Chenyang, executive vice president of YNU, said at the unveiling ceremony that the university will do its best to support the service station.
The service station is expected to help open up education, enhance the international competitiveness and influence of colleges and university in Yunnan, including YNU, and make new contributions to the social and economic development of Yunnan and the construction of a gateway to South and Southeast Asia, Li added.
