The Yunnan center of the media convergence development research center was launched on July 6. It was built by the news and information center of the Xinhua News Agency and the School of Journalism at Yunnan University (YNU).
The center will be a strategic cooperation platform for application research, developed by domestic research institutions and universities involved in news and big data.
The launch ceremony was held in the city of Yuxi in Southwest China's Yunnan province.
The center focuses on five different fields: media and industry, technological application and content production innovation, media generalization integration and communication system construction, omnimedia industry ecology and talent training, and international communication and information collection.
It aims to focus on real problems facing the integration of channels, technology, content, talent, discipline, and social resources in the development process of media convergence.
The School of Journalism of YNU, which has the long-standing journalism and communications school in Yunnan, has the foundations of a comprehensive university and a new platform for provincial-school cooperation. It also fully understands the importance of media convergence.
In the future, the school will continue to combine the practice and theoretical exploration of media convergence development with the transformation of disciplines and talent training to contribute to the training of talent and the development of a new liberal arts model at YNU.
