It was aimed at promoting cooperation and the development of astronomy courses in colleges and universities in Yunnan province, Southwest China's Guizhou province, and South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
More than 140 experts, scholars, and graduate students from 14 universities, including YNU, Guangxi University, Guilin University of Technology, and Guizhou University, participated in the seminar.
The seminar featured in-depth discussions on hot topics related to astrophysics research, the training of astronomy talents, and problems facing the development of astronomy.
At the seminar, Zhang Li, a professor at the School of Physics and Astronomy at YNU, delivered a keynote speech entitled "galactic compact objects and cosmic rays".
In recent years, with the construction and operation of major national scientific and technological infrastructure such as the 500-meter spherical radio telescope known as FAST, astronomical research and education at relevant colleges and universities in Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi have achieved rapid development.
Participants at the seminar agreed that the seminar should continue to be held to expand its influence and contribute to the development of the astronomy field in Southwest China.
