The opening ceremony for the finals of the 7th Junfa Cup Yunnan "internet plus" college student innovation and entrepreneurship competition was held at the Chenggong campus of Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, on July 24.
A total of 75 expert judges and representatives of participating teams took part in the opening ceremony.
The competition aims to further promote entrepreneurship and innovation, and to implement innovation-driven development strategies.

It is also designed to further deepen reforms in innovation and entrepreneurship education at universities, promote the high-quality development of higher education, and accelerate the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talent.
The competition was launched on April 29 this year. A total of 74 schools in Yunnan, including 32 undergraduate colleges, 40 higher vocational colleges, and two secondary vocational colleges, participated in the event, with 33,937 projects, an increase of 26.3 percent compared with the previous year.

During the competition, a series of roadshows for investment and financing, signing ceremonies, and industry matchmaking meetings will also be held.
Banks, investment and financing institutions, investors, maker spaces, incubators, and science and technology parks will be invited to comment on projects, and form investment, financing, and landing incubation cooperation intentions.
