Chinese Bridge Bangladesh qualifying competition held online

The Bangladesh qualifying competition for the 20th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was held online on July 29.

The competition was hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and organized by the Confucius Institute at North South University and the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University.

The Confucius Institute at North South University also launched an online livestream on its Facebook page so that more people could take part in the Chinese-language event.

Six students from the Confucius Institute at North South University and the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University participated in the competition.

After three rounds of contests featuring speeches, quizzes, and talent performances, Poroma Subha Mostafiz from the Confucius Institute at North South University won the first prize with her impressive Chinese language skills and creative talent performances.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming said in a speech that the in-depth cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Bangladesh in the future rely on talents such as these students participating in the competition.

He expressed hope that Poroma Subha Mostafiz would represent Bangladesh in the global finals and learn from students from other countries.
