On Malaysia's National Day on Aug 31, University of Malaysia, Sarawak invited Yunnan University (YNU) to send a congratulatory video to share with teachers and students at the celebration activity held that day.
After the video was shown, the fluent Malay of the teachers and students at YNU was praised by people at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.
In March 2017, Southwest China's Yunnan province and Malaysia's Sarawak State became sister provinces. YNU signed an exchange agreement with University of Malaysia, Sarawak under the supervision of provincial and state leaders that same year.
For years, teachers and students at the two universities have carried out exchanges. Amid the COVID-19 epidemic, the two universities have also jointly organized online lectures and other activities to maintain close relations.
