Recently, Yunnan University (YNU) stood out in the black technology special competition of the 17th "Challenge Cup" National College Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition.
The School of Physics and Astronomy at YNU developed and applied a femtosecond time domain modular multifunctional optical instrument, winning the top award in the competition.
During the competition, a team composed of YNU graduate students Gao Jianwen, Zhang Runhua, and Zhang Linlin under the guidance of YNU teachers Ren Yang and Meng Weidong successfully developed a high-precision instrument for measuring femtosecond laser pulse widths.
The instrument has achieved breakthroughs in the field of femtosecond laser technology through discipline integration and innovation, solving problems related to single function, high price, and low efficiency of related products.
In addition, the instrument can be widely used in scientific research, medical treatment, industrial production, aerospace, and defense, contributing to the country's scientific and technological self-reliance.
The "Challenge Cup" National College Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition is a national competition organized by the Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the All-China Students' Federation.
It is known as the "Olympics" of technological innovation among Chinese college students.
