Yunnan University (YNU) won two golds, one silver, and five bronzes in the finals of the 7th China International College Students' "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
The university also won the university advanced collective award for the first time.
The competition was held at Nanchang University in Nanchang, East China's Jiangxi province on Oct 12-15.
The winning projects involved the fields of medicine, agricultural science and technology, food security, and rural revitalization.
Since 2017, YNU has divided the innovation and entrepreneurship education process into four stages: education, participation, cultivation and incubation. It has also integrated innovation and entrepreneurship education into school development planning, curriculum system, ideological and political education, teaching model, and practice system.
In 2020, the university's curriculum – innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students – was recognized by the Ministry of Education as the first first-class gold courses in social practice.

Every year, YNU provides subsidies for 600-800 student entrepreneurship projects. More than 80 percent of undergraduates have the opportunity to participate in specialized training for innovation and entrepreneurship.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, YNU will continue to promote the reform of the school's innovation and entrepreneurship education, integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of talent training, and cultivate top innovative talent for regional economic and social development.
