Annual sports and culture festival opens at Yunnan University

On Nov 18, the annual sports and culture festival of Yunnan University kicked off on the university's Chenggong Campus. University leaders, athletes, referees and teachers and students attended the opening ceremony.

At 9 am, each school entered the university's stadium in turn to the beat of March of the Athletes. Teachers and students walked at a measured pace and shouted slogans to demonstrate their enthusiasm.

Fang Jingyun, president of Yunnan University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, saying that the festival is a comprehensive evaluation of all teachers and students in terms of spirit, morality, health and sport.

Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of Yunnan University, announced the opening of the festival.

Fitness dances, sports dances and tai chi performances were on stage at the opening ceremony.

The festival ran for three days and included a track and field and other games for students and university faculty.
