Yunnan University holds student congress

The 27th Student Congress and 6th Graduate Student Congress of Yunnan University (YNU) were held at the Chenggong Campus on Nov 19-20. The conference was praised by 61 colleges and universities, including Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University.

Li Jianyu, deputy Party secretary of YNU, put forward his expectations for students and student unions, adding that students should integrate personal growth planning with school development and work to make the school a place where students can pursue their dreams and where top talent can emerge, and allow it to conduct cutting-edge scientific research and demonstrate first-class social service capabilities.

Jiang Runming, chairman of the Yunnan Provincial Student Federation, praised the opening of the conference and expressed hope that the student union of YNU can continue to lead the development of students.

The conference passed four work statements, collected 111 proposals and elected new committees and presidiums for student union and graduate student union.
