Yunnan University (YNU) and Yunnan Meteorological Service signed a strategic cooperation agreement at YNU's Chenggong Campus on Dec 17.

At the signing ceremony, Fang briefly introduced YNU's history and development status, especially the development of meteorology as an academic discipline.
He said that he hoped the two sides will promote the innovation of meteorological science and technology, the transformation of scientific research achievements, and the training of meteorological personnel.
Yin expressed his gratitude to YNU for its long-term support of meteorology in Yunnan province. He said that he wanted to deepen research cooperation between the two sides, as well as enhance the scientific and technological support capacity for Yunnan's green and low-carbon development.
The signing of the cooperation agreement will give full play to the respective resource advantages of both parties. Through the cooperation, the mechanism of scientific and technological innovation, scientific research business integration and innovative personnel training will be strengthened.
Also, the overall efficiency of the meteorological science and technology innovation system will be improved to comprehensively promote the high-quality development of Yunnan's meteorological industry.
