YNU gains two provincial key laboratories

Yunnan's key laboratory of intelligent systems and computing and its key laboratory of carbon neutrality and green and low-carbon technology - applied for by Yunnan University (YNU) - were approved on Dec 29 by the Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department.

With the goal of promoting the construction of a digital Yunnan, Yunnan's key laboratory of intelligent systems and computing conducts research on key issues, and meets the practical needs of "urban brain" and "smart medical care".

Through industry-university-research cooperation, the application demonstration was established to build a laboratory construction model that integrates the value, industrial and technological chains.

Yunnan's key laboratory of carbon neutrality and green and low-carbon technology solves the lack of technical support for energy utilization efficiency, new energy devices, and energy storage technology, with the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality in Yunnan.

It also focuses on the research, development and application of energy conservation and reduction, new energy, terrestrial ecosystem carbon sinking and emissions, carbon trading and other technologies.

The approval of the two YNU laboratories will improve the university's basic research capabilities, team building abilities, and ability to serve the local economy and society.
