Updated: Jan 12, 2022

The "Understanding China" academic forum of Yunnan University (YNU) held 44 thematic series forums since 2017, receiving more than 4,000 submissions from more than 300 colleges and universities from the country and abroad, generating 56 collected papers, more than 30 videos of teaching resources, and five published works.

The series forums focus on solving the problems of college and university students, covering China's economy, society, politics, culture, ecology, and more.

In the process of investigation, the "Yimo" team of the School of Journalism of YNU formed 12 Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index papers and more than 60 research reports, totaling over 2 million words.

Additionally, the team actively participated in the construction of a finance media in Hekou Yao autonomous county in Yunnan province.

The forums also focus on training students to shoulder the task of national rejuvenation. Liu Chuncheng, a doctoral candidate in the School of Government of YNU, said he has participated in this activity since he was a postgraduate. Relying on this platform, he published five papers and chose to continue his doctoral study to realize the ideal of serving the country academically.

The forums have guided young students to understand China's history, present, and future while grasping the trend of the times and developing a new era.
