Yunnan University (YNU) – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – is looking for excellent talents both at home and abroad.
YNU was listed among the first batch of national Project 211 program in 1996 and was listed among the first batch of 42 universities to build of world-class universities and first-class disciplines in 2017.
Currently YNU is implementing the "Donglu Talent Plan" and is on the hunt for eminent professors and scholars.
The specific requirements are as follows:
Position and requirements
Chair professors: candidates must have high academic attainments, such as being national academicians.
Distinguished professors: candidates should have achieved academic attainments that are recognized by their peers, such as tenured professors at world-renowned universities or with comparable academic levels.
Principal professors: candidates should have made influential academic achievements at home and abroad, such as being a leader of a national key research and development program.
Young scholars: candidates should have independent research orientation and be aged up to 38 for science and engineering scholars and up to 40 for liberal arts scholars. The age should be based on July 1 of the year of selection.
Each post is divided into three grades according to the individual situation of the talents.
Financial packages
Salary: no less than 1.6 million yuan ($251,517) annually before tax for chair professors; distinguished professors shall receive no less than 1.1 million yuan before tax; principal professors no less than 600,000 yuan before tax, while young scholars will receive no less than 300,000 yuan before tax. All salaries are paid monthly. There are also housing subsidies and start-up grants.
Team building: selected candidates can set up research teams according to the characteristics of the disciplines and development needs, with preference to enrollments.
Education and medical care: selected candidates can enjoy the affiliated educational resources of YNU for their children from kindergarten level to primary and secondary schools. They can enjoy fast-track medical treatment in the affiliated hospitals of YNU.
