Yunnan University deepens links with business

Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province –  recently appointed Meng Fanchun, general manager of Sino-pipeline International Co, a subsidiary of CNPC, as an adjunct professor.

The presentation ceremony for the conferring of the letter of appointment was held on the Donglu Campus of YNU on Feb 22.

Members of the YNU Institute of International Relations, teachers from the YNU Myanmar Institute and two senior executives of Sino-pipeline International Co attended the ceremony.

During the proceedings, Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU, said the university was striving to become an important national strategic scientific and technological influencer. In this process, cooperation with key enterprises was an important way to speed up the transformation.

He added that general manager Meng's appointment as an adjunct professor at YNU had laid a good foundation for in-depth exchanges and project cooperation between the two sides in the future.

For his part, Meng said that the advantages of universities in academic research and related research results could give enterprises more scientific development direction.

At the same time, the company would continue to support various explorations of YNU in academic research, and he expected the two sides would create a world-class platform in their respective fields through deeper and more practical cooperation.
