Updated: Mar 4, 2022

Some 397 works from eight painting schools were selected in the seventh National Youth Art Exhibition, including a work called Dream by Zhang Jianqiao – a graduate student of the School of Art and Design at Yunnan University, or YNU, located in Kunming city in Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The exhibition is seen as being an important national and comprehensive art show with extensive influence – and is also regarded as a launchpad for young artists across the country to showcase their talents.

It aims to reflect the achievements of creative young art, advocate the diversification of artistic innovation, and cultivate and support young artists. The event also aims to introduce more top-flight art talent, inspire young artists to create more excellent works, meet the cultural needs of the people, and help nurture their aesthetic and spiritual development.

In recent years, the School of Art and Design at YNU is understood to have further promoted the construction of "first-class universities and disciplines". Moreover, it has pushed to continuously cultivate a large number of leading creative artists.
