Paper from YNU research gets national recognition

The Institute of Science and Technology Information of China, or ISTIC, recently selected "China's 100 most influential international academic papers" and one from Yunnan University (YNU) – based in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – was chosen.

Zhang Zhigang, a researcher from the State Key Laboratory of Yunnan Biological Resources Conservation and Utilization at YNU, was named – along with two colleagues. The first authors of the paper, Zhang Tao and Wu Qunfu, are doctoral candidates at the key laboratory in YNU. Researcher Zhang is the only corresponding author of the paper.

The paper "Probable Pangolin Origin of SARS-CoV-2 Associated with the COVID-19 Outbreak" was published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Current Biology, with YNU listed as the lead research unit.

This year's 100 most influential international academic papers were selected from the first author papers included – in Science Citation Index – in 2020.
