Yunnan University teachers win awards in prestigious contest

The second National University Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition Yunnan Division and the fifth Yunnan University Teacher Teaching Competition Final were held on April 9 at Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

According to the list announced by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Yunnan University won two special prizes, four first prizes, three second prizes and five third prizes, achieving the best results in its history.

While preparing for the competition, the College of Undergraduates focused on the selection, training and guidance of YNU's participants and provided them with various support work such as classroom recordings and teaching materials.

During the five-month competition, the college hired experts at leading schools from outside the province to carry out multiple rounds of instructional guidance, highlighting the characteristics of the courses.

The academy also organized for its contestants to conduct several teaching seminars and online reporting drills, to gradually work on and improve their course quality and teaching skills.

The College of Undergraduates has updated its course materials and teaching content in accordance with changes in social needs, deeply integrating it with modern information technology.

Yunnan University is said to guide its teachers to devote themselves to teaching and educating students, so as to be a wind vane for teaching reforms in colleges and universities.
