Updated: Apr 27, 2022

A team led by teacher Li Yuan from the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province – recently won second prize in the National University Mathematics Course Teaching Innovation Demonstration Exchange Activity.

The theme of this year's event was "promoting teaching innovation in university mathematics courses and creating first-class university mathematics courses".

The college organized three teaching teams to participate in the competition. In the Yunnan provincial preliminary round, the team led by Li won the provincial grand prize and represented the province in the national demonstration exchange activities, finally winning the national second prize. Teams led by YNU’s Wang Wen and Zhu Min won the provincial second and third prizes, respectively.

The team led by Li started with the construction of teaching resources and built a three-dimensional teaching resource that covers textbooks, teaching reference books, an independent small private online course on campus, as well as online open courses.

The team made full use of information technology and smart teaching tools, carried out innovations in teaching content, teaching organization forms and teaching evaluation methods and established a deep integration of online and offline economics and advanced mathematics management teaching modes.
