According to a notice from the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences, two key projects being carried out respectively by two professors from Yunnan University – located in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province – have recently been approved as national key projects.
The first project focuses on research related to the construction of a China-ASEAN Community with a shared future and is being carried out by Professor Lu Guangsheng of Yunnan University's Institute of International Relations. The second project focuses on research related to constructing a new regional form and policy optimization to promote the common prosperity of all people and is being carried out by Professor Yang Minghong of the School of Ethnology and Sociology.
Yunnan University received support from two major national-level projects last year – the first time Yunnan province received such special support since 2017. This year, the university has received support from two key projects again, indicating that the school's philosophy and social sciences have maintained strong development momentum.
Though Yunnan University was approved for two key projects, it failed to obtain approval for major projects. In next year's project applications, the university will explore highly competitive research topics, cultivate an interdisciplinary research team, fully mobilize the enthusiasm of the university's researchers, and strive to obtain support for major projects.
