In the lecture, Bi used an intuitive geometric chart to represent a symphony visually.

Bi started by comparing Chinese and Western music and analyzing the characteristics of each narrative and lyric. He taught audiences how to recognize and interpret the structural features of Beethoven and other Western classical music as well as the connotations of musical language.

Liu Shusen, dean of the university's School of Foreign Languages, said that in order to welcome the unviersity's 100th anniversary, the school will hold a series of lectures on foreign language literature and culture starting this semester.

The aforementioned lecture focuses on the symphonic art of Beethoven, a world-famous musician. It is also an attempt to strengthen students' humanistic and artistic awareness so that they can better understand and appreciate Beethoven's symphony art.
