Yunnan University major integrated into industrial practice

The professional construction practice of Yunnan University's Tourism Management Major – oriented around the "integration of production and education" – has integrated the major with industrial development in recent years.

The major has established a complete talent training system known as the "undergraduate-master-doctoral-postdoctoral" system: undergraduates have been recruited since 1993, postgraduates have been recruited since 1997, doctoral degrees in tourism management have been authorized since 2003, post-doctoral research stations have been approved since 2010, based on tourism management, doctoral degree authorization of the first-level discipline of business administration was achieved in 2011.

Along with higher education development, the major is developing knowledge modules, building a curriculum, changing teaching roles, and highlighting the professional characteristics of construction at the undergraduate stage.

These series of measures reflect the characteristics of the professional construction field, comprehensively improve the quality of professional personnel training, and play a leading role in the construction of applied majors in colleges and universities, especially industry-based majors.

The School of Tourism, which the major belongs to, has established strategic cooperative relations with more than 10 large enterprise groups, established practice bases in 20 existing enterprises, held the Yunnan Business Forum, and participated in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions for college students.
