Yunnan University broadens cooperation with government

Yunnan University – located in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province – recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce.

Fang Jingyun, president of Yunnan University, Li Chenyang, director of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce, and leaders and heads of various departments of both parties attended the signing ceremony.

Fang said that the university is building an excellent talent training system and hopes to establish a number of joint training bases by visiting enterprises to expand jobs and deepen cooperation with the government and enterprises to improve students' comprehensive skills, create opportunities for students to find employment and start businesses, and to contribute to the high-quality development of Yunnan province.

Li expressed hope that the two sides will continue to give full play to their respective advantages and strengthen cooperation related to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), South and Southeast Asia economics and trade, Lancang-Mekong River basin countries, reform of the open economic system, and talent exchange and training.

Meanwhile, the department will provide internship training positions to enhance students' abilities to find jobs and start businesses and help more graduates apply what they have learned to serve the country and society.
