More than 60 experts, scholars and well-known writers from more than 50 universities at home and abroad – including Tunku Abdul Rahman University in Malaysia and Fudan University in China – participated in the conference to discuss the research and talent training of Chinese literature in Southeast and South Asia, and the current issues facing Southeast and South Asian's Chinese literature.
At the opening ceremony, Wang Weidong, dean of the School of Literature of Yunnan University, delivered an opening speech, briefly introducing how the Chinese Department of Yunnan University operated, as well as the research of Chinese literature around the world.
The seminar was divided into eight sessions, and a total of six scholar seminars, one writer's forum, and one postgraduate forum were held.
The seminar embodies the cross-international, cross-cultural, and cross-disciplinary concept of "new liberal arts" construction, and greatly expands the research prospects of Chinese literature in Southeast and South Asia.
