Innovation, entrepreneurship competition inspires YNU students

The Yunnan University (YNU) final of the 8th China International Colleges Students' "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition came to a close at the university's Chenggong Campus on June 12.

A total 399 projects from 25 schools at YNU competed, resulting in 39 gold awards, 68 silver awards, and 290 bronze awards.

The 107 projects winning gold and silver awards will advance to the Yunnan provincial competition.

The projects covered the fields of big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, cyberspace security, energy conservation and environmental protection, new materials, and modern medical care.

The competition consisted mainly of roadshows. Contestants gave presentations on their project background, industry analysis, business model, and core competitiveness, as well as financial analysis, equity structure, team members, promotion and application, and future planning.

Since the official launch of the school competition on April 21, YNU has held many school-level work coordination and promotion meetings, organized many pre-competition publicity presentations, and promoted project selection and evaluation.

To select the project team that can best represent the university's innovation and entrepreneurship education and practices, YNU invited a total of 60 expert judges to participate in the on-site review, of which 24 are national and provincial judges for the competition.

The competition has highlighted YNU teachers' and students' enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship and the continuous improvement of their innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities.
