The Short Term Online Business Chinese Certificate Course opened on June 18, which is hosted by the Consulate General of China in Kolkata, India, the Bengal Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, the foreign affairs office of Yunnan provincial government, and Yunnan University.
This is the first time that Yunnan has offered Chinese language and cultural training courses for the Indian business community.

More than 50 people attended the opening ceremony online, including Zha Liyou, Chinese consul general to Kolkata, Angana Guha Roy Chowdhury, assistant director general of the Bengal Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, Xia Jianfeng, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of the Yunnan provincial government, and Hu Jinming, vice president of Yunnan University.
Zha said that at the opening ceremony, Yunnan, as an important gateway province in China facing South Asia and Southeast Asia, has a long tradition of friendly exchanges with India, especially East India.
It is hoped that the two sides will take the course as a new opportunity to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, education, cultural exchange, and human resources.
Chowdhury said that the Bengal Chamber Of Commerce and Industry and its members look forward to further strengthening cooperation with China, especially Yunnan, in various fields such as economy and trade.
The course lasts for three months and focuses on the teaching and practicality of spoken Chinese, covering the use of Chinese in all aspects of business activity.
Those taking the training course are all members of the Bengal Chamber Of Commerce and Industry and are entrepreneurs in West Bengal.
The course serves as a new bridge for business exchanges between Yunnan and India, and has expanded new channels of communication and exchange, which will promote the new development of business cooperation between the two sides.
