Yunnan University's two national projects conclude

The National Social Science Fund "Belt and Road Initiative" construction research project chaired by researcher Zhang Chun of the Institute of International Relations of Yunnan University and a major research project chaired by Professor Lyu Zhaoyi of the university's Indian Research Institute were recently concluded.

During the research period, Zhang's research team produced a series of high-quality results, published eight papers in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index journal, and published 14 review articles. One of its consulting reports was adopted by the Ministry of Finance and one by the Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC.

Lyu's research team produced a number of high-quality decision-making consultation reports, one of which was adopted by the National Philosophy and Social Science Work Office and one of which was adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Two articles were adopted by the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Office.

The major research project of the National Social Science Fund are the projects with the highest level, the most funding, and the most authoritative categories of the fund, including three categories: applied strategy research, major basic theoretical research and interdisciplinary research. The average funding amount is 600,000 yuan ($89,538) to 800,000 yuan.

The two major projects, which have now been concluded, fully affirmed the academic achievements of Yunnan University in South and Southeast Asia studies, the "Belt and Road Initiative" study, and the study of China-India relations, and stimulated further development in the university's international relations discipline.
