In order to boost the contribution of foreign teachers to Yunnan University and improve levels of service, on June 28, YNU's International Cooperation and Exchange Office hosted a meeting that focused on improving management of them.
Foreign affairs secretaries and special clerks from 20 foreign teacher-employing units in the university ̶ located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province ̶ attended.
The meeting required the units to implement the university's regulations on the management of foreign teachers, including the rules on employment, teaching, scientific research and safety management.
The school currently has 96 teachers from 24 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States. This year, a dozen national and provincial foreign expert projects have been implemented at YNU.
Since 2017, a total of 14 people working in the university have been selected as top foreign experts in Yunnan province, covering such research fields as paleontology, medicine, astronomy, new energy, ecology and the chemicals industry.
In order to meet the development needs of recruited international staff members, YNU has further streamlined its teacher employment management system for them.
By holding online forums, expert lectures, remote scientific research cooperation and exploring other modes, the university has built two international and domestic administrative platforms.
