The organizing committee of the 17th Challenge Cup National College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition recently issued two commendation notices to all universities and colleges, and three teachers from Yunnan University, or YNU ̶ located in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province ̶ were awarded honors.
Teachers Chen Xue and Ren Yang won the title of outstanding instructors, teacher Ma Chao was awarded the title of outstanding worker in the special competition, while YNU received an award for being the outstanding college group, for organizing the special competition.

The Challenge Cup series of competitions are known as the "Olympics" for Chinese college students and their scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship. It is widely regarded as being one of the most representative, authoritative and exemplary college student competitions in China.
Yunnan University ranked 11th among colleges and universities in the country in terms of the scores and won the special prize for the first time, in what was seen as being its best performance to date in participating in the Challenge Cup events.
Moving forwards, plans are for the university to continue to organize and cultivate a series of competitions and create a cultural atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship on campus.
