11 Yunnan University projects win provincial awards

The 2021 Yunnan Science and Technology Awards Conference was recently held in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province. Yunnan University, located in Kunming, was awarded 11 scientific research projects, including four first prizes, three second prizes and four third prizes.

This is the first time that Yunnan University has won the first prize of the "Yunnan Natural Science Awards", the "Yunnan Technology Invention Awards", and the "Yunnan Science and Technology Progress Awards" at the same time.

Zhang Xiguang, the runner-up in the National Natural Science Awards and a professor at Yunnan University, was awarded the "Yunnan Provincial Talent Training Incentive Award" on site. At the conference, Zhang, on behalf of the majority of scientific researchers, expressed his determination to make scientific and technological contributions to the high-quality development of Yunnan.

It has been reported that since the first phase of "first-class universities and disciplines" development, focusing on the international academic frontier, major national needs, and the national economy, Yunnan University has cultivated a strategic high-end talent team, built a number of high-level research platforms, and produced a number of original milestone research results – making signficant contributions to the high-quality development of Yunnan.
