Graduate summer school for international communication opens in Yunnan

The opening ceremony of the Graduate Summer School on International Communication Theory Frontiers and Research Methods was recently held in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The event was jointly sponsored by the School of Journalism of Yunnan University, the Department of Journalism and Communication of Communication University of China, and the Journalism and Communication Sub-Committee of the Alliance of South and Southeast Asian Universities.

It aims to promote the cultivation of China's international communication talent, enhance the country's international communication capabilities, and create an independent Chinese international communication academic system.

This time, lectures and training were focused on advanced theoretical and practical issues, and mainstream and advanced methods of international communication. In addition to leaders and experts from various colleges and universities, more than 170 colleges attended the opening ceremony online or offline.

At the opening ceremony, Zhao Qihua, vice president of Yunnan University, and Liao Shengqing, dean of the university's School of Journalism, expressed hope that the event will provide a high-quality communication platform for students to broaden their academic horizons, understand the dynamics of disciplines, and improve their academic abilities.

Tian Yuan, a doctoral graduate of Communication University of China, delivered a speech on behalf of students, expressing his gratitude to the organizer of the summer school and sharing his research insights on overseas Chinese audiovisual works and their significance based on his own learning and practical experience.
