Yunnan University team investigates 3 cities to enhance employability

Updated: Aug 24, 2022

Yunnan University's "Understanding China" research service enterprise observation team – composed of 16 teachers and students from the university's School of Business and Tourism, School of Software, and School of Art and Design – recently visited the cities of Kunming, Chuxiong and Puer in Yunnan province to carry out research and field activities.

The purpose of the activity is to help college students broaden their horizons, better understand enterprises and ponder their careers in order to enhance employability.

During the investigation, the research team visited 12 representatives of local enterprises (three in Kunming, four in Chuxiong, and five in Puer) in various industries such as medicine, food, and technology to learn about their development status, existing difficulties, corporate response measures, and requirements for employees in the post-epidemic era.

"Practice is the only criterion for testing truth, and it is crucial to apply theoretical knowledge to research practice," said Zhou Jie, a student majoring in visual communication design at the School of Art and Design, during the research process. He added that he now has a clearer goal for his future career thanks to the activity.
