YNU researcher wins award for young Chinese scientists

The award sharing meeting for the 2022 "Young Scientists Empower China" Search Activity was held in Foshan city, South China's Guangdong province, on Aug 26. At the meeting, Qi Bin, a researcher from the School of Life Sciences of Yunnan University (YNU), won the nomination award for the event.

Qi mainly studies host-microbe interactions. His laboratory has established a unique host-gut microbe screening system to systematically study the role of gut bacteria metabolites in animal development.

Since its launch on May 30, the event has been participated in by a large number of colleges and universities, scientific research institutes and technology-based enterprises in 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions.

The disciplines of the 468 participants include mathematics, physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering, electronic science and technology, information and communication engineering, control science and engineering, petroleum and natural gas engineering, and more.

This is the second year in a row young scholars from Yunnan University have been awarded, after researcher Hu Wanbiao of the School of Materials and Energy of Yunnan University won the first nomination award in 2021.
