YNU team wins special prize in 3rd national chemistry event

The works of three students from Yunnan University (YNU) won the special prize in the finals of the third National College Student Chemistry Experiment Innovation Design Competition – which was held at Xiamen University, located in Xiamen, Fujian province, on Aug 21-24. Yunnan University also won the Award for Outstanding Organizational Unit.

The competition has been held three times since 2019, and it is one of the most influential college student chemistry competitions. This competition was participated in by more than 4,000 teachers and students from 410 domestic universities.

Each university can register up to three teams in the sub-divisions, and just one team can enter the finals. The works of Yunnan University that won the special prize won the first prize in the Southwest Division and also represented Yunnan University in the national finals. Two other works of the university won the second prize in the Southwest Division.

Yunnan University attached heavy importance to the competition and won the first prizes in both the first and second national competitions. The winning of the special prize is a first in the undergraduate experimental teaching of chemistry, demonstrating chemistry's influence on students' innovative abilities.
