The opening ceremony of the Online Business Chinese Course (2022) for BCCCI, Bangladesh – co-sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh-China Business and Industry Association, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, and Yunnan University – was held on Sept 8.
This is the first time that Yunnan province has set up a customized training program for business Chinese and cultural exchanges for the Bangladeshi business community. It is hoped that Bangladeshi entrepreneurs will strengthen cross-border government-enterprise-university cooperation with Yunnan by learning business Chinese. Yunnan University will be responsible for the teaching design and implementation of the training course.
The Bangladeshi trainees come from middle and senior management positions at enterprises in various fields such as international trade, banking, technology, software, commerce, textiles, garment manufacturing, and motorcycle commerce.
Li Jiming, Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh, delivered a speech at the ceremony. Hu Jinming, vice president of Yunnan University, recounted the achievements of Yunnan University in international exchange and cooperation and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and explained the teaching objectives and curriculum of the course.
AI Mamun Mridha, secretary-general of the Bangladesh-China Business Industry Association, said that the training course would lay a language and cultural foundation for Bangladeshi business people to better understand China and enter the Chinese market. He hopes that the trainees will improve their business Chinese and promote in-depth cooperation between China and Bangladesh in various fields such as economy, trade and culture.
