Yunnan University builds 3 centers with Honghe area

The demonstration research center for border ethnic unity and progress, the cross-border ecological security research center, and the border opening demonstration research center jointly built by Hani-Yi autonomous prefecture of the Honghe Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and Yunnan University were recently inaugurated.

The inauguration of the three centers is an important measure to implement national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Vietnam Economic Corridor, and to benchmark advanced international trade rules such as RCEP and CPTPP.  

After the establishment of the three centers, Yunnan University will strive to improve the work level and effectiveness of Honghe area and Hekou county of Honghe in border opening, ethnic unity, and ecological security, improve regional innovation capacity, and promote regional economic and social development.

At the same time, the two sides will also carry out in-depth cooperation in more than 30 projects in talent training, scientific and technological cooperation, consulting services, personnel training and resource utilization, relying on the three research centers.  

This approach provides a platform for improving the high-quality development level of Yunnan University as it serves Yunnan province, and intellectual support for the high-quality development of districts and counties.
