Leaders, teachers, students watch congress opening ceremony

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China opened in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of Oct 16.

The congress – which runs to Oct 22 – is being held at a critical moment, with the entire Party and the people of all ethnic groups having embarked on a new journey to build a socialist modern country in an all-round way and in a march towards the second century goal.

Leaders, teachers and students of Yunnan University – based in Kunming, capital of China's Southwest Yunnan province – watched the opening ceremony of the congress through the internet, on TV and via mobile phone and other channels and carefully studied the report.
