An online work exchange meeting on "Celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of the Alma Mater" was held by the local alumni association of Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – on Oct 22.
Some 116 representatives participated, including the heads of alumni organizations from all over the country.
Hu Jianfeng, secretary-general of the Alumni Association of Yunnan University, presided over the meeting. He discussed the progress made to date in the preparations for the centennial anniversary and put forward suggestions on how local alumni associations could participate in the centennial school anniversary activities by filming congratulations videos, among other things.
Hu hoped that local alumni associations would take opportunity of the centennial anniversary to do a great job in the organization and construction of alumni associations and enhance the cohesion of alumni.
Li Jian, president of the Shanghai Alumni Association; Sui Haizhou, president of the Qingdao Alumni Association; Ma Enduo, president of the Shenzhen Alumni Association; Xiao Mingchao, executive vice president of the Beijing Alumni Association and Chen Jie, deputy secretary general of the Entrepreneur Alumni Association, respectively gave talks.
They expressed their thoughts on how to build good local alumni associations and how they could contribute to the centennial celebrations.
Other alumni at the meeting also made suggestions.
