Yunnan University students help at provincial conference

The sixth Yunnan International Talent Exchange Conference opened on Nov 12 in Kunming – capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province – with 45 students from Yunnan University volunteering to provide their services for the two-day event.

The volunteer service work was divided into three parts: rehearsal work, service work for delegates to Kunming and opening ceremony work.

Volunteers were split into five working groups – including a transport group, a hotel working group, a guest guidance group and a representatives guidance group.

On the morning of Nov 10, a training session for the volunteers was held, and in the afternoon each group carried out on-site drills to ensure the smooth proceedings of the conference.

"Volunteer service is an important symbol of social civilization and progress and an important channel for volunteers to contribute their enthusiasm," said Yunnan University volunteer Chen Huizhi.

"I feel honored to participate in the volunteer service activities of the conference," she added.
