Chinese researcher named one of world's most cited scholars

A researcher from the State Key Laboratory for the Protection and Utilization of Biological Resources in Southwest China's Yunnan province – jointly built by Yunnan University and Yunnan Agricultural University – has been recognized as one of the world's most cited academics.

The researcher, Yu Diqiu, was selected in the plant and animal science field on the 2022 Global Highly Cited Researchers list on Nov 15.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Yu has been included on the list, highlighting his preeminent academic influence in his field.

The list is updated once a year and published by Clarate Analytics, one of the largest information service providers in the world, aiming to commend academics with outstanding international influence in the fields of natural science and social science.

In 2022, 6,938 scientists from 69 countries and regions around the world were included on the list in various fields.

Researcher Yu has been engaged in research on the molecular mechanism and signal pathway of the interaction between plants and environmental factors for a long time – and has reportedly made a series of innovative international cutting-edge achievements.

More than 140 academic papers have been published in international mainstream academic journals such as PNAS, Plant Cell, Molecular Plant and he has been cited more than 9,300 times. Of these, 18 of his papers have been selected among the top 1 percent of cited papers in the ESI "Plant and Animal Discipline" field.
